14% Of Coronavirus Patients Who Have Recently Been Discharged In China Re-Test Positive
The local health authorities in China have reported that 14% of patients infected with the new coronavirus and who were previously discharged have tested positive again for the same virus.
Despite getting tested twice before getting discharged, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Song Tie, said that there is no scientific conclusion as to why some patients tested positive for the virus.
Tie added that based on the preliminary assessments, medical experts believed the patients had not yet fully recovered from lung infections when they were initially released.
In the province of Guangdong alone, there are 1,347 confirmed infections and seven casualties.
