Arab With A Filipino Heart Cooks 1,000 Biryani Meals For Taal Evacuees In The Philippines
Syrian vlogger Basel Manadil has once again won the hearts of Filipinos after distributing packed meals for Taal evacuees in the Philippines.
The dish that was distributed is called Chicken Kabsa, a Syrian dish that is very similar to Chicken Biryani.
“I used local Filipino rice instead of Basmati rice. I cooked 5 rounds of rice using a big commercial rice cooker. I never cooked before I left Syria, so my mom would be so proud once she sees this,” he said in his vlog.
Each meal consists of one chicken wing and according to him, it took approximately seven hours to cook the food and another four hours to pack the meals.
Last week, Basel has distributed N95 masks to the residents near Taal volcano for free.
