Thousands of social media accounts and more than two dozen of websites have been shut down by the authorities in the UAE for collectively doing one thing – selling counterfeit items online!

A total of 4,879 social media accounts and 30 websites were affected by the crackdown of the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED).
The total followers of the pages amounted up to 33.5 million.
The DED worked closely with the websites and the brand representatives to close the accounts.
