FREE: A Cultural Show About A Place In The Philippines Will Be Staged In Dubai
Let’s all take a break from watching sci-fi films or read about nasty things, let’s all focus on something new for a moment.
What about a cultural (and educational) show about Limasawa, a province in the Philippines?
Limasawa is very rich in history as it was said to be the first place to hold the very first Christian mass in Asia.
That was like 400 years ago!
The Island is also called ‘Cradle of Christianity’.
But why is it called Limasawa?
Have you heard about Magellan?
Well, he made friends with some of the natives there and with the legendary chieftain Rajah Bankaw.
Rajah Bankaw had five wives or limang asawa in Filipino. And the place was derived from that very scene.
And you know what? All the things that happened there will be staged in Dubai in one night.
It’s going to happen on Thursday, July 5 – from 7 pm onwards at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Oud Metha.
Ticket is free so are the lessons!
The more than 50 performers will be coming from the Leyte Normal University.
Limasawa Cultural Show is presented by DJMC Events Management and the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Dubai.
Bring some popcorn because the show will take more than an hour.
