FUN things to do before the holy month of Ramadan.
The weather may be warming slightly, we are not going to be stopped by it from gracing the upcoming events in May, a holy month to welcome Ramadan. This holy event begins halfway through May.
You may attend these events either you want to experience Arabian hospitality or just want to kill time.
1. The Illusionists (May 1 to 7)
It ain’t too late to reserve for tickets to witness the mind-blowing show that features seven of the world’s most talents illusionists. Jamie Raven, Ben Blaque and Raymund Crowe, some of the notable performers, have already been seen by millions of people around the world – levitating, disappearing, escaping, and mindreading before the audiences. 2. Matryoshka Festival (May 2 to 5)
Haven’t attended any free Russian festival? Here’s a perfect timing to witness an extravaganza Matroshka. It is expected to showcase popular urban lifestyle destination transformed into a magical wonderland. While tasting Russian culinary specialties, you might want to listen to singer Nikolai Baskov, admire the talent of iconic designer Igor Gulyaev, wander through a Russian traditional market and watch prima ballerinas from St. Petersburg’s legendary Mariinsky Theatre. 3. Nawal Al Zoghbi (May 4)
Lebanese pop sensation Nawal Al Zoghbi will be performing to her Arabic fans on May 4, 7:30 p.m, at the Dragon Mart 2 for free. Perennial music trendsetter has been in the industry for three decades and has sold over 40 million albums. Her notable songs include ‘Ayza El Radd’ and ‘Balaee Fi Zamany.’
4. Fetty Wap in Dubai for two gigs
679 singer Fetty Wap is coming to Dubai on May to hold a 2-night gig. On May 4, the US rapper will play at Drai’s Dubai and on May 5, he will perform at WHITE Dubai.
5. RMDAH Challenge (May 12)
If you’re into a new kind of challenge and always bored, then this game is for you. RMDAH Challenge is taking its game to the next level. Participants are challenged to walk barefoot along the hot desert sands for a total distance of 150 meters (with rest stops every 10 meters). The sand-walking event is for free and will take place at Mushrif Park on May 12 at 11 a.m.
What better way to celebrate Ramadan than seeing artworks all about Ramadan? The annual art exhibition, Ramadanization, shows artists’ pieces – showing the true meaning of the celebration. The arts will be showed for free at The Gallery Light, Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Center (DUCTAC) starting May 14 until June 17. For more information please visit
