In case you don’t know, Dubai is a very competitive city (undeniably).
But did you know that the city has bagged more than 200 world records already and some are pretty amazing.
In a Twitter post by @DubaiPostEn, it enumerates some of the popular records bagged by the emirate in the past couple of years.
Record: Tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa)
This mesmerizing tower has a total height of 2,722 ft which was opened in 2010 as part of a new development called Downtown Dubai.
Record: Fastest Police Patrol Car (Dubai Police)
In 2017, Dubai Police force was presented with a certificate by Guinness World Record for having the world’s fatest car in service – a Bugatti Veyron – just one of its 14-strong fleet of supercars.
Record: Biggest Shopping Mall (Dubai Mall)
This project is part of the 20 billion dollars Downtown complex and it has more than 1,000 shops inside. It also attracts 54 million visitors each year.
Record: Longest Metro Line Without A Driver
This rapid transit rail network is fully automated and driverless.
January 1 this year, Dubai has broken a new record, and that’s having the longest firework show as the world’s tallest tower.

Dubai is the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passengers. It has 77.5 million passengers in 2015.
