Malls In The UAE Adopt Airport-Style Thermal Scanners To Prevent The Spread Of Coronavirus
To prevent the spread of coronavirus, malls and supermarkets in the UAE are now using airport-style thermal scanners.
These places have also upped their cleaning protocols by performing 'deep cleaning.'
Those mall shoppers or visitors with high temperatures will be turned away or sent to nearby medical teams for further testing.
Wajeb Al Khoury, director of Line Investments and Property, part of supermarket chain Lulu was quoted as saying by The National, said that one camera has been installed at the main entrance of the Khalidiya Mall and Lulu Hypermarket.
Airport-style thermal scanners are also fitted in Al Raha, Al Wahda, Mushrif, Madinat Zayed, and Mazyad Malls in Abu Dhabi, as well as at Barari Outlet Mall and Al Foah Mall in Al Ain.
Customers with abnormal body temperature will be led to a quarantine room and a medical team will be called to take the customers for further testing.
