Oman, UAE's Neighbour, Lifts Ban On Skype Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
Oman, a neighboring country of the United Arab Emirates, has lifted the ban on video calls amid coronavirus outbreak.
The state's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) lifted the ban on internet tools like Microsoft Corps' Skype for Business, Google Meet, and Zoom in a bid to help companies and schools hold remote meetings and classes that could stem the spread of coronavirus.
UAE's ban on free voice calls over the internet has long been a grievance for expatriates.
Meanwhile, in UAE, some residents claim that they can use Facebook Messenger's video calling service after so many tries.
