The Truth About Jails In Dubai And How Prisoners Are Treated Inside
Chaotic, dark, beaten – these are just a few misconceptions about jails in Dubai.
Believe it or not, it’s the exact opposite – inmates are free to roam inside, they are given whatever they need.
In a 2013 report by Gulf News, it shows how Dubai Women’s Central Jail in Al Aweer looks like. It has spacious playgrounds for kids, training and workshop facilities, a clinic with a full-time doctor and even a supermarket, among other amenities.
Unlike any other jails, Dubai adopts a concept called ‘open jail’ and it has no steel bars, has spacious rooms, wall to wall glass windows. The facility can accommodate 400 inmates.
Children of the prisoners are allowed to stay inside as they have no relative outside. They can also talk to police officers where they can share whatever they want.
