This Chef Posted Something On Twitter That Triggered People and A Dubai Hotel
A celebrity chef had a taste of ‘karma is now digital’ when he posted something on Twitter that caused outrage on social media.
Celebrity Chef Atul Kochhar made an insensitive statement against Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, which is deemed to be Islamophobic, bigot, and racist.
The digital karma slapped him when a hotel in Dubai, JW Marriott Marquis cut ties with him.
The hotel asserted that the chef who operated the award-winning Rang Mahal is no longer associated with them and that they will continue to operate without the chef’s affiliation.
Kocchar explained that the decision was “deeply upsetting”.
The now-deleted tweet of Kocchar that was addressed with the Indian actress reads: “It’s sad to see that you have not respected the sentiment of Hindus who have been terrorized by Islam over 2,000 years. Shame on you.”
He issued two apologies later following tweet – regretting how he has done and acknowledging a major error made in the heat of the moment.
